Tarsal instability is a commom and challenging diagnosis. The PDS Tarsal Support can be an effective solution for many such issues.
Commonly used to treat:
Tarsalinstability/sprain or strain injury
Immune-related joint disease
Angular limb deformity
The design of the PDS Tarsal Support has been refined for over a decade to provide effective light to moderate support with a high level of comfort and ease of application. Proper fit and function relies on a product that will consider the unique shape and movement of the tarsal joint and uses materials specially designed for veterinary use.
The PDS Tarsal Support is designed to provide an intimate fit, with even pressure and support from top to bottom and reduces the risk of rub sores.
The PDS Tarsal Support alone provides light to moderate support. If rigid support is needed, low temperature plastic may be molded by a veterinary professional and applied to the support. This multi-level solution not only allows for the precise support needed, it also allows the solution to be dynamic, increasing or decreasing the amount of support over time and situation without having to order a completely new Carpal Support.
For dogs, suffering with an angular limb deformity or with other abnormal joint structure, the PDS Tarsal Support can be highly customized. To support these cases, digital images may be requested and a casting of the limb will be needed. The support is then literally sculpted to the casting.
